There are various challenges faced in the community and these were identified using the participatory method, participants were asked to identify what problems are in the community, this was a brainstorming exercise. Participants came up with a number of challenges including the following.
- Poverty – lack of money to cater for family, payment for school fees,
- Unemployment
- Corruption in government and amongst people – Fear of going to a government office for help because one does not have money to give away.
- Poor feeding
- Lack of income
- Lack of guidance
- Lack of land for farming
- Lack of health facilities - there is infrastructure. However, drugs and services are poor. Sometimes the drugs are available but poor public relations
- Limited research about diseases in humans – Sometimes researchers come but they work on issues the community has not informed them about not what the community is facing.
